The Queen

My name is Sydney, and the two things I love most in this world (other than my cats) are writing and eating. Queen of the Food Age is dedicated to everything food–recipes, quotes, thoughts, reviews, pictures, and interacting with other people out there who are as passionate about food as I am.

It’s always wine o’clock as far as I’m concerned.

I’m not a chef (but I do say BAM! a lot when I’m cooking), nor have I really had any professional training (unless you count 1 semester of culinary school… which most people don’t), but ask anyone who knows me and they’ll tell you: I’m a foodivore. I live to eat.

Like these crazy people. “WE CAN’T RESIST THE CALL OF DINNER”

Image Disclaimer: Many of the pictures I use on this blog come from Google images, because most of the time, I’m too busy shoving food into my face to remember to take pictures. See a picture in my blog you like? Take it. But I’d sure appreciate you linking back to my blog when you do. Thanks!

Marshmallow domination.

Content Disclaimer: I don’t receive compensation (monetary or otherwise) for any of the reviews I put in this blog. If I receive free food from any of the restaurants at which I eat, I make a mention of it in the post (if you’re wondering why you’ve never seen one of these before, it’s because it literally has never happened). Sometimes I get asked to come review a restaurant/product/etc. When I do, I specify that in the post, and I do not let that in any way affect the outcome of my review. If I don’t like it, I don’t like it. I’m not going to lie just to be polite. Sorry. Also, the opinions and statements expressed on this blog do not reflect those of my employer or vice versa. Ok. I think that’s everything.

Thanks! I just approved your blog claim. Now your Urbanspoon profile picture is displayed on your blog page. You can upload a blog-specific photo if you prefer, and can change a few other blog settings there. Also, if you vote for a restaurant that you’ve reviewed on your blog, we now show your vote next to your post everywhere on our site.

I just found your blog. Very entertaining ;).

Since you mentioned us in your May 7 entry … how did you know about “Trashcans”? We don’t advertise them. They were invented by the previous owner (we bought the place in 2010) . The “Trashcan” has become a local legend among the college crowd. We only offer them if someone asks.

Anyway please come by and have a meal. The owner and head chef, Hope, prepares everything fresh and uses as much locally grown produce as possible. The “Vegetable Bin” is a lifesaver sometimes. She is here most days until 8PM so just ask for “mom’. Chucktown Tavern is the only place in the Market St area where you can get a home cooked lunch Mon-Fri for $5.95.

    Thanks

I used to live right on Beaufain and Chucktown tavern was the closest place to my house. When the old owners were there, they recommended a Trashcan as a special drink for my 21st birthday And its been a tradition for trashcans and karaoke at Chucktown tavern ever since!

And your menu looks great, I’ll definitely be stopping by for lunch or dinner in the next couple of weeks!!

Thanks so much for finding me, Marty! I look forward to eating one of Hope’s delicious home cooked meals!
